This 1950s home needed an update for a single gentleman who wanted a comfy, modern, and new look. He requested to use his existing art and Biedermeier-inspired furniture in the design. After knocking down two walls for more space, we created the space plan for the kitchen. We decided on clean, modern Shaker cabinets in a maple ‘Amber’ stain to coordinate with his dining room furniture. We went with new black appliances with brass handles, a black & brass faucet, and a stainless steel sink in a brass finish! We installed black Quartz countertops with gold veining. The worn Mediterranean tiles bring a touch of surprise. The colors from the tile inspired the area rug and the fabric used in the new dining room. We installed faux wood blinds that were matched to the cabinets.
